The install command and download
- The winget ID is checked against the package folder in Microsoft's winget-pkgs repository on every build of the site's gates.
- The Download button always points at the setup MSI of the latest GitHub release, read from GitHub's release data at build time.
- No file is hosted, mirrored or re-packaged on this site.
The ScreenToGif facts
- Hotkeys, defaults, menu labels and preset names are read from the source at tag 2.43.2, and each is linked to its file.
- Version-specific claims cite the release that introduced them in the official release notes.
- File names, sizes and SHA-256 digests come from GitHub's release data; the x64 installer hash is compared with the winget manifest.
- Screenshots come from the project's own README and website, and each caption says what may differ in the current release.
When a new release ships
A daily job compares the cited source files between the checked tag and the newest release. If none changed, the checked version advances on its own. If one changed, the pages keep naming the version they were checked against until a person re-reads them, and the stamp shows both versions in the meantime.
